Editorial Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
CalmlyHuman exists to help readers navigate parenting, relationships, family dynamics, Stoic philosophy, and everyday wellness with clarity and honesty. This page explains how we research, write, fact-check, and maintain the content you read here — so you know exactly what standards we hold ourselves to.
1. Our Editorial Standards
Every article published on CalmlyHuman is expected to meet the following bar:
- Grounded in real sources. Claims about psychology, child development, or wellness are backed by established research, credible studies, or recognized experts — not recycled from other blogs or presented as fact without a source.
- Practical, not theoretical. We aim for articles that leave you with something usable, not just something interesting to read.
- Honest about uncertainty. Where research is mixed, or where something is personal opinion or experience rather than established fact, we say so explicitly rather than presenting it with false authority.
- Clear about limits. Articles touching on mental health, family conflict, or anything with clinical implications include a note pointing you toward professional support where relevant.
2. Research & Fact-Checking Process
Before publishing, every article goes through the following:
- Source verification. Any statistic, study, or specific claim is checked against its original or a credible secondary source. We do not publish numbers or claims we cannot trace back to something real.
- Draft review. Articles are reviewed for accuracy, tone, and usefulness before publishing — not just for grammar.
- Post-publication updates. If a source is later found to be outdated, retracted, or incorrect, we correct the article and note the update where appropriate.
3. Use of AI Tools
Like many independent publishers, we use AI tools as part of our writing and editing workflow — for drafting, structuring, and research assistance. However, every article is reviewed, fact-checked, edited, and approved by a human editor before publication. AI-assisted drafts are never published as-is; claims and statistics generated or suggested by AI tools are independently verified against real sources before anything goes live. The perspective, judgment, and final responsibility for every article is human.
4. Corrections Policy
We take accuracy seriously. If you spot an error, an outdated claim, or a broken source in any article:
- Email us at admin@calmlyhuman.com with the article link and the issue
- We will review the claim and, where warranted, correct the article promptly
- For significant corrections, we may note the update and date directly on the article
We do not quietly rewrite history — meaningful corrections are transparent, not hidden.
5. Independence & Affiliate Relationships
CalmlyHuman is independently operated and self-funded through advertising and, where disclosed, affiliate links. Affiliate relationships never influence which topics we cover or what we recommend — if a product isn't genuinely useful, we don't recommend it regardless of any commission. Sponsored content, if ever accepted, will always be clearly labeled as such.
6. Author Attribution
Articles are written and edited under the direction of CalmlyHuman's editor. Where an article draws heavily on a specific external expert, study, or contributor, that source is credited directly within the piece.
7. Feedback & Topic Suggestions
CalmlyHuman is shaped by its readers as much as its editor. If there's a topic you'd like covered, a perspective we're missing, or a question you think deserves its own article, we welcome the suggestion.
